Ranger im Nationalpark Hainich

HainichNational Park

The Hainich region has been a National Park since 1997 und is a World Heritage Site subject to the protection of UNESCO because of its beech forest. Trees of different ages and sizes stand together - an original and species-rich wilderness in the middle of Thuringia.

Jungle in the middle of Germany

The Hainich National Park is centrally located in Germany. Today, 91 percent of the National Park is free of human intervention, an absolute top value for a national park in Germany. Small but nice, this is the way how the Hainich should develop according to the motto "Let nature be nature". Today, Germany's largest non-utilised deciduous forest area can be found there.
